Uploading Files to the Server Using Plesk File Manager

The Plesk File Manager makes it simple to upload and manage files on your server without needing additional software like FTP clients. Follow these steps to upload files to your hosting account.

Step 1: Log in to Plesk #

  1. Open your web browser and go to the Plesk login page.
  2. Enter your credentials and click Log in.

 

 

Step 2: Navigate to File Manager #

  1. In the Plesk dashboard, locate the Websites & Domains section.
  2. Select the domain where you want to upload files.
  3. Click on the File Manager link.

 

 

Step 3: Select the Directory for File Upload #

  1. Once in the File Manager, navigate to the folder where you want to upload your files.
    • For website files, go to the httpdocs folder.
  2. Ensure you are in the correct directory before proceeding.

Step 4: Upload Files #

  1. Click the Upload button at the top of the File Manager interface.
  2. In the popup window, click Browse or Select Files and choose the file(s) you want to upload from your computer.
  3. Click OK or Upload to begin the process.
  4. Wait for the upload to complete. Larger files may take more time depending on your internet speed.

 

 

Step 5: Verify the Upload #

  1. Once the upload is complete, the file will appear in the selected directory.
  2. Double-check the file’s name and size to ensure it matches what you uploaded.

Tips #

  • If your file is large, consider compressing it into a .zip file and uploading it. You can extract the file using Plesk’s Extract Files option in File Manager.
  • Organize your files into subdirectories to keep the structure clean and easy to manage.
  • Use descriptive file names to avoid confusion.
