WordPress is one of the most popular platforms for building websites. Plesk makes it easy to install and manage WordPress directly from its dashboard. Follow these steps to install WordPress on your domain.
Step 1: Log in to Plesk #
- Open your web browser and go to the Plesk login page.
- Enter your credentials and click Log in.
Step 2: Navigate to WordPress Toolkit #
- In the Plesk dashboard, locate the WordPress option in the left-hand menu.
- Click on WordPress Toolkit to open the installation interface.
Step 3: Start the WordPress Installation #
- In the WordPress Toolkit, click Install WordPress.
- Select the domain or subdomain where you want to install WordPress.
Step 4: Configure Installation Settings #
- Fill in the required fields for your WordPress installation:
- WordPress Version: Choose the latest version (pre-selected by default).
- Installation Path: Leave empty to install in the root directory or specify a folder (e.g.,
/blog
). - Administrator Username: Choose a username for your WordPress admin account (avoid “admin” for security).
- Password: Set a strong password or click Generate for a secure password.
- Email: Enter your email address to receive WordPress notifications.
- Choose the Database Name or leave the default option. Plesk will create the database automatically.
- Click Install to begin the process.
Step 5: Complete the Installation #
- Wait for the installation to complete (this usually takes a few seconds).
- Once done, you’ll see the WordPress installation listed in the WordPress Toolkit.
- Click Log in to access the WordPress Admin Dashboard and start customizing your site.
