Editing DNS Records for a Domain

Managing DNS records is essential for configuring your domain’s settings, such as pointing it to a specific hosting server or email provider. Here’s a quick guide to help you edit DNS records in Plesk.

Step 1: Log in to Plesk #

  1. Open your web browser and go to the Plesk login page.
  2. Enter your credentials and click Log in.

 

 

Step 2: Access the Websites & Domains Section #

  1. Navigate to the Websites & Domains tab in the left-hand menu or on the main dashboard.
  2. Locate the domain you want to manage and click on it.

Step 3: Open the DNS Settings #

  1. Under the domain management section, look for DNS Settings and click on it.
  2. This will open a list of all existing DNS records for the selected domain.

Step 4: Edit an Existing DNS Record #

  1. Find the DNS record you want to edit (e.g., A record, CNAME, MX, etc.).
  2. Click the Edit icon (usually a pencil) next to the record.
  3. Update the required fields, such as the Record Type, Host, or Value.
  4. Click OK to save your changes.

Step 5: Add a New DNS Record (If Needed) #

  1. To add a new record, click the Add Record button.
  2. Select the record type (e.g., A, CNAME, MX, TXT) from the dropdown.
  3. Fill in the necessary details (e.g., Host, Value, TTL).

Step 6: Apply Changes #

  1. After editing or adding DNS records, click Update or Apply Changes at the top of the page.
  2. Wait for DNS propagation, which can take up to 24–48 hours depending on your registrar.
